When showing a function graph (Xrefs to/from or Function Calls), IDA doesn’t warn if it’s very large. Large graphs can make IDA unresponsive for minutes, with no way to cancel. A simple dialog showing the node count and allowing cancel would make it much more user-friendly.

This is a known issue which we hope to address in future. In the meantime, for huge programs you can try this approach.
